Return Policy

Customer satisfaction is our #1 priority. We understand that purchasing on-line is sometimes difficult without being able to touch and feel the product. Because of this, we offer several return options to insure your shopping experience with us is a satisfying one.

We want you to be a satisfied customer, and we need your help to maintain our wide selection, name brands, low prices, and large on-hand inventory. We reserve the right to refuse returns or assess additional fees at our discretion if the merchandise is not in the original packaging and ready-to-be-sold condition.


Lightship Marine Outfitters will stand behind all products we sell with regards to manufacturing defects in workmanship and material for 30 days. After 30 days defective products should be returned to the manufacturer for warranty repair. We will always do everything in our power to take care of any problem within 30 days of purchase.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

To request a RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization):

Email Us to request a RMA at Be sure to provide the original invoice number, product being returned, and the reason for return. After you request a RMA, we will send you return instructions by e-mail.

We offer the following return options:

Returns will not be accepted without a RMA (return authorization number).

Returns due to our error or on products that are defective from the manufacturer will gladly be returned or exchanged at no cost.

Items may be returned for a refund (less shipping) within 30 days from when you received your shipment.* The item must be in new, resaleable, unused condition and in its original packaging.

A 15% processing fee will apply to all returns that are in un-saleable condition, or do not include the original packaging (boxes, labels, tags, etc.).

Products being returned must be shipped freight pre-paid; no COD's.

Shipments refused by the customer are subject to a 15% processing fee

Original shipping and handling fees are non-refundable.

Refunds must be issued to the original payment method used. If the original payment method is not available, a store credit will be issued.


We do not accept returns on:

Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery.
Any item that is not in its original condition, is damaged, used, or is missing parts.
Special order, closeout, or discontinued products.

Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will find out about your return.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
